GRRM reveals more casting news - including Jaime

And yes, I'll rightly admit that I was more interested in that specific role than the others.





So Jaime will be played by Nikolaj Coster-Waldau. GRRM posts a bit about him here.

My immediate reaction wasn't one of pure joy, but after pondering it a bit I think this is a really good choice. The guy can act and he also looks the part.

Though combined with the current influx of the Skarsgård-family in films and series, it feels a bit like the Scandinavians are everywhere. Hee.

As for the other parts, the guy cast as Theon looks good, but the actor playing Dany doesn't work for me. Perhaps she is better in The Tudors, but I don't watch that and so I wouldn't know.

Hmmmmm! I don't really know anything about him - he certainly looks the arrogant part in that photo you posted, but ... I DON'T KNOW!

The consolation is that he can act. As for the rest I was a bit hesitant myself, but am now leaning towards liking the choice. What soothed my nerves was the fact that he has a tiny role in Black Hwak Down, where he plays a sniper - and he basically steals every scene he is in. That is vital for a Lannister I think! ;)

Yet we are protective of our Jaime, so I can rightly understand your worry.
