Swedish Scandinavian Templars! Coming this December the movie Arn - Knights Templar. (ps. there is a little language sign at the top of the page that turns everything into English)

The film is based on the books by Swedish author Jan Guillou, which have been a huge success in Scandinavia. They tell the story of Arn, a young Swedish noble man and later knight who fights in the Crusades and later in Sweden. Not to fond of the books myself, but I'm unable to pass up a film set in the Middle Ages and with Templars! Also it doesn't look all that bad. Hee.

My brother and I were just talking about this a few weeks ago, wondering when it was opening. He's a huge fan of the books, though, so he's really looking forward to it. I just think it looks really pretty, heh.

I does look pretty doesn't it? And since I'm shallow when it comes to visual pretty things I can forgive the wonkyness of the plot. (also it's fun to spot the Nordic actors. Stellan SkarsgÄrd is present I see. Hee.)

And as far as I can tell it opens December 26th all over the Nordic countries, so yay.

Oh, that's interesting. Would like to know whether this film comes to Germany anytime. Looks a bit like "Kingdom of Heaven", but I still like these adventure-middle-ages films even though they are mostly full of battle scenes that I think are boring... ;-)

Well, it is one of the most expensive Scandinavian films ever made, so they'll probably try to release it abroad to earn back some money- which means there's a good chance it will come to Germany.

Hee. Yes - there are parts of it I think looks exactly like "Kingdom of Heaven", but it will be fun to see how they have imagined the Middle Ages. And hopefully there will not be to many battle-scenes. ;)

Heee. Ok, I got sold when the dude flipped his bloody sword from hand to hand. I hope it makes it out here! (Man, reading the trailer's titles was weird. I know enough German that it almost makes sense... and then doesn't. Heee.)

Incidentally also the scene I liked best. Have I mentioned that you have such excellent taste? Hee.

That would be weird yes. I've had sort of the same experience with Dutch (due to trading there are quite a lot of Dutch words in Norwegian and vice versa) Walking around in Amsterdam and getting half of what is said.

Further evidence that we are cosmic twins.

To me, Dutch sounds like someone is really, really drunk and trying to speak French and German at the same time. :P
