More on that ASOIAF casting thing

GRRM reveals more casting news - including Jaime

And yes, I'll rightly admit that I was more interested in that specific role than the others.





So Jaime will be played by Nikolaj Coster-Waldau. GRRM posts a bit about him here.

My immediate reaction wasn't one of pure joy, but after pondering it a bit I think this is a really good choice. The guy can act and he also looks the part.

Though combined with the current influx of the Skarsgård-family in films and series, it feels a bit like the Scandinavians are everywhere. Hee.

As for the other parts, the guy cast as Theon looks good, but the actor playing Dany doesn't work for me. Perhaps she is better in The Tudors, but I don't watch that and so I wouldn't know.

I'm fine with most of the casting, NCW included, but I think the guy they've cast as Theon looks awful. Much too young and smirky and with a squished-up face or something.

I'll admit that the guy playing Theon looks very young, but as I've always pictured Theon as smirky anyway it didn't bother me too much. Also I think it will be different seeing him in action, still shots can after all be very misleading. Still, in contrast to guy they've got playing Robb I can see your point.
