Did any of you play with Playmobil when you were kids? Well I did, and I loved it – but none of my playmobiles were ever Roman.

There is the Roman family, and the father looks like he is really exited about some case in the Senate. The mother proves herself a doting wife and stands by with the wine ready.



And of course there is the Roman military. I love the mini!ballista for all your conquering needs. (the image text said catapult, but surely this is a ballista? Or am I way off here?)




Since it is no fun to play Roman without proper opposition have some Gauls. I do love the striped pants of the guy in the middle.



Some of these toys are more than a bit odd though. This is labelled Horse drawn cart with Prison cage. So the kids can truly enact a triumph after defeating the nasty Gauls?



There is also a large box set featuring the arena - complete with gladiators and lions.

oh my.

And last night I realized the owner of 4ps put a hole bunch of 80s cds in the jukebox. I felt nostalgic all through my shift.

Hee. I know the feeling. I think nostalgia is good - at least in small doses. (though I'm still a bit sceptical about the Prison cage thing. I'm not saying one should shelter the kids, but seriously a prison cage? Isn't that bordering on the WTF? Though it might also be just me that is grumpy. :P )
